MEPZ Special Economic Zone (MEPZ SEZ) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day today with a commemorative event highlighting its contributions to economic growth, infrastructure modernization, and workforce welfare. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Thiru Alex Paul Menon, Zonal Development Commissioner, MEPZ, followed by his Independence Day address, which emphasized the pivotal role of industrial ecosystems in advancing India's self-reliance, environmental sustainability, and inclusive growth.
  

A major highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the Trunk Infrastructure Revamp project at MEPZ. This initiative focuses on upgrading power and energy networks, water supply systems, transit mobility, site resilience, drainage networks, effluent and sewage management to boost operational efficiency and long-term sustainability. Recognizing the human element behind the zone's operational success, the ceremony also felicitated security personnel for their vigilance, alongside long-serving housekeeping and maintenance staff. The event reaffirmed MEPZ SEZ's commitment to building a resilient, sustainable industrial hub while empowering its workforce to drive the nation's economic progress.
