MEPZ SEZ unlocks Rs.158 crore investment and 2,700 jobs with eight new unit approvals
The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) of MEPZ Special Economic Zone, chaired by Shri Alex Paul Menon, Development Commissioner, has approved eight new units, unlocking over Rs.158 Crores in investments across the Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region. The approvals are set to create more than 2,700 jobs, marking a major push to strengthen the region’s industrial competitiveness. The newly approved investments span critical sectors including renewable energy, IT/ITES, engineering, and advanced manufacturing. Key highlights include:- Suzlon Energy Limited will establish a Unit in Coimbatore with an investment of Rs.58 Crore, generating 1,010 jobs.
- IBM India Private Limited will invest Rs. 54.34 Crores in Indialand Tech Park, KGISL SEZ, Coimbatore, creating 600 skilled positions.
- Schneider Electric Systems India Private Limited will launch a new Unit at Gateway Office Parks Private Limited, contributing approximately 500 jobs.
