MEPZ SEZ Greenlights SIX Projects, Bringing ₹98 Crores Investment and New Jobs to the Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Puducherry (TAP) Region

Chennai, March 09, 2026:

The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) of MEPZ Special Economic Zone, chaired by Thiru. Arthur Worchuiyo, IAS, Joint Development Commissioner, approved six new projects spanning IT/ITES, warehousing, and logistics services, bringing significant investments and employment opportunities to the Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region.

The approved projects together represent over ₹98 crores in investment and are expected to generate around 900 new jobs, further strengthening the region’s growing industrial ecosystem.


Among the major approvals:
  • M/s. Presidio Solutions Private Limited will invest ₹76.40 crores at Infopark Properties Limited SEZ, creating 600 employment opportunities.
  • M/s. Honeywell Aerospace India Private Limited will invest ₹17.88 crores at ELCOT SEZ, Ilandaikulam in Madurai, where it will undertake software development, testing, and maintenance services for aerospace applications, generating 272 new jobs.
The expansion of such advanced technology operations in cities like Madurai highlights a larger transformation underway in India’s industrial geography. Increasingly, Tier-2 cities are emerging as destinations for specialised sectors including aerospace technology, IT services, and engineering, supported by skilled talent pools and expanding infrastructure.

With sustained investments and the emergence of new technology clusters, MEPZ Special Economic Zone continues to support the evolution of a dynamic and geographically diversified industrial ecosystem in the Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Puducherry (TAP) Region.
