MEPZ SEZ UAC Approves New Units Worth ₹140+ Crores, Creating 950+ Jobs Across TN & Andaman and Puducherry Region

The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) of MEPZ Special Economic Zone, chaired by Thiru. Alex Paul Menon, IAS, Development Commissioner, has approved new Units and expansion projects attracting investments exceeding ₹140 Crores across the Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region. The approvals are expected to generate over 950 employment opportunities, further strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem.
The newly approved investments cover key sectors such as renewable energy, engineering, IT/ITES, and advanced manufacturing. Major approvals include:

- M/s Sankar Friction Tech Private Limited, establishing a new Export Oriented Unit (EOU) at Irungattukottai, Kanchipuram District, with an investment of ₹49 Crore, creating 365 jobs.
- M/s Andavar Bio Fuels, investing ₹48.30 Crores to convert its existing DTA Unit at SIPCOT Industrial Growth Center, Perundurai, Erode, into an Export Oriented Unit.
