MEPZ Successfully Concludes 4th Annual Health Camp 2026, Reinforcing Commitment to Employee Wellness

Chennai, August 5, 2026 The Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) Special Economic Zone, under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, successfully concluded its 4th Annual Health Camp 2026, conducted from 6 July to 5 August 2026. Organised in association with the MEPZ Manufacturers' Association (MEPZMA), Rela Hospital, and Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital, the month-long initiative reaffirmed MEPZ's commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and employee well-being across its industrial ecosystem.

Strengthening Preventive Healthcare

Building on the success of previous editions, this year's Health Camp introduced an expanded range of preventive healthcare services. Employees benefited from comprehensive health assessments, eye examinations, liver screening, and other specialised investigations. These services were designed to facilitate early diagnosis and encourage timely medical interventions. A key highlight of this year's programme was the Organ Donation Awareness and Registration Camp, which encouraged employees to understand the significance of organ donation and voluntarily pledge to save lives. The initiative also featured Family Health Days on Saturdays, enabling employees to extend the benefits of preventive healthcare to their family members.

Promoting a Culture of Employee Well-being

Addressing the valedictory event, Thiru. Alex Paul Menon, IAS, Zonal Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone, reiterated the importance of proactively safeguarding the health and well-being of employees. He emphasized that preventive healthcare should become an integral part of every workplace and encouraged all units to continue strengthening employee wellness initiatives. To promote a culture of holistic healthcare across the Zone, he announced that the best-performing unit demonstrating exemplary commitment towards employee health and wellness would be recognised and rewarded. Additionally, the Head of HR of the winning unit will receive a special recognition prize, encouraging greater participation and sustained commitment to employee welfare.



The successful completion of the fourth edition of the Health Camp reflects the continued collaboration between MEPZ, MEPZMA, Rela Hospital, and Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital. Through sustained partnerships and a strong focus on preventive healthcare, MEPZ continues to set a benchmark for workplace wellness within Special Economic Zones.
