Strong international partnerships often begin with meaningful conversations. In a step towards strengthening global engagement and fostering new avenues for trade and investment, MEPZ Special Economic Zone hosted a Meet & Greet Session with Mr. Sebastian Barron, Official Representative from the Office of the Governor of Georgia, USA, on 31 July 2026 at the MEPZ SEZ Admin Building, Tambaram.

The session was also attended by Mr. Prabhu Bala, Regional President, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), South India, and provided an opportunity to showcase the strengths and potential of the Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region.

The discussions highlighted the region’s robust industrial ecosystem, export performance, sectoral diversity and investment potential, with a focus on the strategic advantages that make the TAP Region an attractive destination for businesses seeking to establish or expand their presence in India.



Mr. Sebastian Barron shared insights into the State of Georgia’s business ecosystem, highlighting its strategic location, logistics infrastructure and investor-friendly environment. His perspectives offered valuable opportunities for identifying areas of complementarity and potential collaboration between Georgia and the TAP Region.

The interaction also focused on strengthening India–US trade and investment ties, encouraging greater business engagement, fostering industry partnerships and exploring opportunities for collaboration across sectors. The exchange provided perspectives on how the complementary strengths of the two regions could be leveraged to create long-term economic value.

The session was further enriched by interactions with industry stakeholders, enabling a constructive exchange of views on opportunities for international business partnerships and deeper economic engagement.

The Meet & Greet reaffirmed MEPZ-SEZ’s commitment to promoting the TAP Region as a preferred destination for global investment and to creating platforms that facilitate international connections, knowledge exchange and meaningful business partnerships.
