MEPZ-SEZ Concludes Fourth Annual Health Check-Up Program, Impacting Over 10,000 Employees with Expanded Diagnostic Services

The Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) Special Economic Zone successfully concluded its Fourth Annual Health Check-Up Program on 02 December 2025, benefitting over 10,000 employees across its industrial units. What began as an initiative to increase health awareness within the SEZ has now evolved into a trusted annual wellness movement, one that continues to attract rising participation each year. This consistent growth reflects MEPZ’s unwavering commitment to fostering a healthier, more empowered workforce.

Organized in collaboration with Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, and the MEPZ Manufacturers’ Association (MEPZMA), the 2025 edition delivered the most comprehensive range of preventive health services to date, strengthening MEPZ’s focus on accessible, high-quality diagnostic care.

Enhanced Preventive Health Services

This year’s camp expanded its diagnostic offerings significantly, ensuring holistic healthcare coverage for employees across diverse job roles. Key screenings included:

  • General Health Assessments: Blood pressure, blood sugar checks, and physician consultations for early detection of lifestyle-related conditions.
  • Cardiac Health Screening: Introduction of ECG tests along with expert cardiology consultation and echocardiography review to assess cardiac risks.
  • Respiratory Health: Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) to screen for respiratory issues and support early intervention.
  • Vascular Diagnostics: Doppler scans for varicose veins, addressing work-related circulatory challenges common in industrial settings.
  • Eye Care Services: Comprehensive eye examinations, including retina evaluations and glaucoma checks.

Dedicated Women’s Wellness Section

Reaffirming the importance of inclusive healthcare, the camp featured a focused women’s health segment offering:

  • Pap Smear Tests
  • Mammogram Screenings
These services continue to play a vital role in promoting early detection of cervical and breast cancers - two of the most critical health concerns for women in the workforce. Building on the success of 2025, MEPZ plans to further expand and enhance the camp in 2026 by integrating more advanced diagnostics and strengthening partnerships with leading healthcare institutions. The overarching goal remains unchanged: to ensure that every employee within the SEZ has timely, convenient access to preventive, high-quality healthcare.
