Around 4000 persons mostly employees (Men and Women) are using the pathways to reach their work place located inside MEPZ. The radial distance of MEPZ-SEZ from the main entrance is 5 kms.(approx.) This project is intended to provide shelter to the employees especially labourers working in various industrial and service units inside MEPZ from the hot sun and rains. This project is considered as a welfare measure for the employees working in MEPZ. Creation and usefulness of this facility was discussed with the members of the Executive Committee of MEPZ Manufacturers Association who felt that this would benefit the employees. It has been decided to undertake the work for a distance of 1 km to start with . The work is in progress and nearing completion.
